New Dukes Stuff - 10/23/2019 - Greenlight 1/43 Hazzard Patrol Car, Regal Contest Poster, Pioneer Figures and More!

I got some new stuff.  A lot of new stuff!  I had to split it up in to a few different posts.  This is the first, so let's dive in!

This biggie in this bunch is this crazy poster.  It's a poster that hung in the lobby of a Regal Movie Theater advertising a Dukes of Hazzard movie themed contest.  It's so unique and specific to a particular movie chain.  All of the copies would have probably been destroyed after they were displayed.  Movie posters are collectibles and are sought after, but tie-in posters for a contest that are chain specific probably don't interest too many people.  Except if it's a Dukes poster, and it happens to be my favorite movie chain.  This poster has "me" written all over it!

I started going to Regal Theaters years ago.  My local Regal started out as a Hollywood Theater, in Washington, PA.  They still have a huge Hollywood sign, but it's definitely a Regal.  I see a lot of movies there.  This contest was a part of the Regal Crown Club, and I am a card carrying member.  I literally have the card in my wallet.  I'm a big fan of Regal Crown Club's rewards and contests.  I've won a couple of their contests and use their rewards often.  I've seen a lot of movies for free using the program.  When I saw this poster connecting my movie with my theater, I had to have it.

I wasn't a member of the Regal Crown Club when the Dukes movie was in theaters.  My theater wasn't a Regal yet, so I never knew about this contest.  The poster uses the familiar artwork from the standard Dukes movie poster.  To enter the contest, you had to see the movie during its first month in theaters.  The winner received a trip for two to Daytona, FL and an experience at the Richard Petty School of Racing.  They also received a Kodak Digital Camera.  Not a bad prize at all.  I wonder who won the trip.  I won the day by scoring this poster.

I do have my Regal Crown Club card.  And I'm glad I do.

Staying with the Dukes movie and movie theater theme is yet another Dukes of Hazzard movie theater mylar.  This is the fourth different mylar I've added to the collection.  I have three different mylars that are all long style.  This one is square shaped.  I showed off the other three last year.  In my previous posts I mentioned that I have never been to a movie theater that utilizes mylars.  That changed this summer when I visited the newly refurbished Sun and Surf Cinema in Ocean City, MD to see Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Sun and Surf recently updated everything in their theater and now use mylars above the theater doors.  When I was there to see Spidey's latest adventure, I noticed the mylar and talked to the manager about how I have a collection of Dukes versions.  I also took a Spider-Man figure and purchased this awesome pop and popcorn holding neck hanging thing they called the chalice but I call The Batiste.  Long story.  Let's get back to Dukes.

This newest mylar has the reversed image on the back, just like the others.  When it is lit from the back, the image really stands out.  I now have four different mylars; are they any more out there?

I mentioned this item before, but I need to talk about it more.  Hazzard Nation is the Dukes of Hazzard documentary to end all Dukes of Hazzard documentaries.  There are a few others out there, but Ben and Alma put this together and it's just about perfect.  If you haven't added this to you library yet, get to it.

The film includes interviews with all of the cast and has great older footage of the cast and crew that are no longer with us.  I won't say that my favorite part is the part with me in it, but it just might be.  This movie is a must have for all Dukes fans.  Get yours from Cooter's Place today.

I recently bought a bunch of Dukes school folders.  I bought the set but only needed one of them.

The folders, notebooks, tablets, and drawing pads all used the same images.  It can get a little tough
to keep track of which ones I do and don't have.  This folder with Bo and Luke walking down a street in Hazzard is one of the last ones I didn't have.  Check another one off the list.

It's a little discolored inside, but it hasn't been written in or damaged.   WriteRight is the manufacturer of the Dukes school supplies.

Next up are some weird little buggers.  These are Pioneer Spare Parts that include the small figures that came with the Pioneer General Lee slot car.

They each have official names.  First up is "Street Car Driver 'Bo' General Lee."  We'll just call him Bo.

"Passenger Figure 'Luke' General Lee" is next.  Bo and Luke are in seated positions.  Bo's hands are looking for a steering wheel and Luke wants to rest his arm on the window of the Gen'ral.

Next are a couple of Daisys.  Each called "Daisy Duke 1/32 Scale Figure," the two different ones come in different stances.  The white shirt and pink shorts Daisy with one hand on her head variation originally came with the Black General Lee.

The classically colored red top and blue jean shorts in the iconic "hands of hips" pose originally came with the standard Pioneer General Lee.  You may remember that I added one of these Daisy Spare Parts to the collection last year.

But that one was slightly different because it had hand written information on the card, not printed.  The parts numbers match, but the newer one has more info on it.  These odd little figures are very cool additions to the collection.  They came from England.

The final addition in this post is the Greenlight Collectibles 1/43 1977 Plymouth Fury Hazzard County Sheriff Patrol Car, otherwise known and the 1/43 Rosco Greenlight.  I picked up two for the collection, one to open and one to keep sealed.

Sealed is the correct word for this one.  It's sealed inside shrink wrap.  The box is similar to its 1/18 counterpart, but this time there is a window to see the actual car.

All the sides of the box share the same, non-Dukes and non-WB, artwork.

Inside the box is a plastic case to protect the car.

The case has a small Fury decal on top that my camera did not want to focus in on.  This is the best picture I could get of it.  It's the same logo that's used on the side of the box.

The car looks great.  The light bar does not come off on the 1/43, like it does on the 1/18.  I like this feature better.  The car is attached to a base that says 1977 Plymouth Fury.  I keep saying it with these Greenlight cars, but I wish they got the license from WB.  That way the base would say Rosco P. Coltrane's 1977 Plymouth Fury Hazzard County Patrol Car.  I wonder if all that would fit on there.

The car looks perfect.  My only complaint is the lack of license plates.  It should have a rebel flag on the front and 83522 for Rosco or 83502 for Enos or Cletus on the back.

The 1/43 is not in the Artisan Collection like the 1/18.  This is the third addition to Greenlight's "Hazzardous Collection" and so far there has been no conformity to their box design.

The 1/43 does not have an antenna like it's big brother, but is nearly identical otherwise.  Another home run by Greenlight.  And they aren't stopping there.  It looks like Greenlight has plans to create every car in Hazzard except the General Lee.  So far, along with the Fury and Uncle Jesse's Pickup, they announced Daisy's Dixie Jeep, a 1975 Dodge Monaco Hazzard Patrol Car, and a 1978 Dodge Monaco Hazzard Patrol Car, a Chickasaw County Sheriff Little Patrol Car, a Finchburg County Patrol Car, a Hatchapee County Patrol Car, Enos' #86 Hazzard County Road Rally Car, and a Tri-Counties Bonding Company 1971 AMC Matador.  They will come in 1/18, 1/43, 1/24, and 1/64 scales.  That's a lot of cars.  The Enos #86 car will be the third of four cars in 1/18 scale from the Hazzard County Road Rally in the episode Luke's Love Story.  I wouldn't doubt if Greenlight is working on Amy Creevy's #13 Lucifer Camaro, the forth car in that race.  The other two are already in 1/18 scale; the General Lee and Cooter's 99 Camaro.  All the different police cars will be fun.  The Tri-Counties Bonding Company car throws me for a loop.  We need the standards; Boss Hogg's Caddy and Cooter's tow truck.  We are going to be adding a lot more cars to 1/18 Hazzard County soon!
