I'm still here in Luray for the 2026 Hazzard Run. That post is coming soon, but before that I was giving the opportunity to announce very exciting news about Cooter's In The Valley. Several people this weekend and at the event last month asked about what comes next. Ben is no longer with us, but Cooter's isn't going anywhere!!
The Pigeon Forge location is closing at the end of this year. That location is known for it's screen accurate "sets" like the Boars Nest and a smaller version of the garage that's in Luray. After PF is closed they'll be a major renovation to parts of the Luray location that will bring the Boars Nest and the Hazzard County Jail to Luray!
The store area of Cooter's has two rooms. The larger front room has most of the merchandise and there is a room in the back that has with additional Dukes stuff.
The back room will be transformed into Hazzard's favorite watering hole that will be perfect for pictures and reenactments.
The floor is already taped off for preliminary construction. The mastermind Mark Bradley is in charge of the project and we all know how amazing his work is with the garage in Luray and the Pigeon Forge location.
In addition to the Boars Nest, Mark is also crafting a Hazzard Jail set in the corner on the museum that leads to the garage.
The area currently has a sign that says "Behind The Scenes."
There are original screen used items and vintage memorabilia on display in that area that will be moved to another location in the museum to make way for the amazing setup that's being planned.
Miss Alma gave me permission to announce this exciting news. The word is out locally at the Hazzard Run, but I get to tell the world. Cooter's isn't going anywhere and only getting better. I can't wait to see what Mark and the Cooter's crew are going to create. This is going to be fun!
