Auto World has a new 1/43 General Lee on the way

My friend at Auto World sent me some more exciting news and pictures of another great Dukes diecast they have coming.  This one is a 1/43 scale General Lee.  We've never seen the Ol' Gen'ral in this scale.  This one is going to rock.

These pictures are of a pre-production sample and it is not final.  But, in my opinion, it could be cause they look great.  It features a correct roll bar, which has been difficult for other diecast companies to nail down. The wheels look great too.  The 1/18 Auto World General Lee is by far the best General you can buy under 1/1 scale.  This 1/43 will be on that level.

In my opinion, they got everything right---just look at that push bar.

The plate has correct CNH 320 number, but it doesn't have the Hazzard markings, so maybe that will change.

I'm not sure if it will come with this little display stand that is labeled, but I hope it does.  It is very encouraging that the flag is on the roof.  After seeing the new Hallmark ornament, I feared WB, as rumored, wasn't letting anyone use the flag, but, thankfully, that is not the case.  The history of the show lives on.

The interior has great detail too.  I can't wait for this one.  It will be a part of Auto World's Silver Screen Machines line of 1/43 cars that includes the already released Christine car and will have a Smokey and the Bandit car in the future.  No word on release date or pricing yet.  Christine retails for around $70.  2014 will be huge for the Dukes of Hazzard.

EDIT:  This car will be made of resin, not diecast.

    1. To my knowledge, this is not a limited run. They haven't released the numbers, but it is not just 1000. The review is up: http://dukescollector.blogspot.com/2014/04/143-general-lee-from-auto-world.html
